A Peek Inside

Last Friday, August 6, we went to First Vu Imaging to have a 3D sonogram done. This gave us the chance to get a sneak peek of our baby. The first thing they did was to confirm that it's definitely a baby girl. Robert was relieved to finally have someone state the gender definitively. I think he was afraid that if I popped out a baby boy I'd put him in dresses because those would be the only clothes we had.

The next 30 minutes were spent trying to get a good picture of our Emily Pearl. Looks like she's going to be a snuggler. She spent the whole time curled up against the uterus with her hands over her face. In the picture above you can see her arm bone over her left cheek. The big black area on the left is the uterus. The black, fuzzy spot over her left eye is the placenta. But you can still see some of her sweet little face.

I'm so glad we paid the money to have the sonogram done. It's made her seem more real to me. Less of a parasite and more of baby. I feel more connected to her. I can't hardly wait to snuggle her.
